St Nicholas Church Gayton...

Annual Parish Meeting ...

Envelope Scheme...

Revd. Whittle leaves the parish...

2010 has a different feel for us in the Gayton Group of Parishes.

Our Rector, Revd Ian Whittle, who has been with us for 12 years, has taken up a new position in the Bale group of parishes, near to Holt and Blakeney. We are very sad to see Ian leave, but wish him well in his next appointment in this group of 10 churches and parishes near the Norfolk coast.

On January 3rd Ian led the service of Holy Communion at St Nicholas church, Gayton and afterwards nearly 100 of us went back to the Jubilee Hall for drinks, refreshments and a final farewell.

On Jan 15th Ian was installed at Langham church, which was a great occasion and marks the start of Ian’s next ministry in that place.

Cliff Robins.

PCC Secretary.

Gayton St Nicholas Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Wednesday 7th. April 2010, at 9.30am at Gayton Hall.

You are welcome to attend the meeting. If you are enrolled on the church Electoral Roll you may vote at this meeting.

For Regular Giving - 2010

The PCC will again run the Envelope Scheme for regular giving in 2010.

Regular giving through the scheme smooths out the variations in the flow of funds to the church and makes budgeting easier.

As before, when you join the scheme we provide a pack of numbered and dated envelopes which may be used to make your contribution.

Your envelope may then be taken to the church when attending services, or may be handed to any member of the PCC or to the vicar, or other arrangements if necessary.

You are invited to join the scheme to support your church.

Please contact the Secretary – Cliff Robins – telephone K/L 840970 – for further details or to join the scheme.

Your gift will be received with very grateful thanks and will be used for the work of St Nicholas church.

Gift Day ...

Very many thanks to all those who contributed to the St Nicholas Gift day in December.

Some £596 was gratefully received. A large proportion of this was accompanied with a Gift Aid certificate. This will enable us to recover the tax that you will have paid on your contribution and so enhance the value of your contribution.

Your help is greatly appreciated and your gifts will be used for the work of the church.
