Gayton C of E VC First School ...

Gayton Church of England Voluntary Controlled First School was founded in 1851. There have been many changes over the years and the school currently serves families in Gayton, Gayton Thorpe and other nearby villages. Children attend from the age of 4 to 8 (Reception to Year 3). They then, usually, transfer to Grimston Junior School to complete their primary schooling. A real strength of our school is its family feel because being a small school everyone knows everybody. In July 2007 Ofsted found that " Pupils thoroughly enjoy school because much of the teaching is lively and engaging. Relationships between pupils and staff are excellent."
