Gayton Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School was founded in 1851. There have been many changes over the years and the school currently serves families in Gayton, Gayton Thorpe and other nearby villages. Children currently attend from the age of 4 to 9 (Reception to Year 4) but will grow to become a full primary (Reception to Year 6) by September 2013.

A real strength of our school is its family feel because being a small school everyone knows everybody. Our last Ofsted inspection found that “Pupils thoroughly enjoy school because much of the teaching is lively and engaging. Relationships between pupils and staff are excellent."
